The only figure I kept from the Peter Gilder AWI collection which appeared in the Curt Johnson was Tarleton. For those interested the AWI collection of PG was significantly more than shown in the book and featured many miniatures that never appeared in the retail range.
The legion cavalry were commanded by the painted Suren figure in the first photograph. Not sure who painted the figure but it still looks good.
As I could not better the Suren mounted version I made a Tarleton dismounted.
All the cavalry and infantry I painted during the early 90's. I remember that the infantry I painted whilst on holiday in Tenerife. The cavalry were painted some years earlier.
