Elector Friedrich August II of Saxony, King of Poland left Dresden and journeyed to Warsaw.
In Poland he addressed the newly formed Polish Winged Hussars. For a number of years the need for the PWH had declined but with war looming four families had raised their banners and presented themselves to the King.
The PWH families had retained their earlier armour and continued to wear.
